It offers Mobility Solutions, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy Technology. Bosch also has a big development center outside Germany for engineering and technology solutions.

Bosch started its manufacturing in India in 1951. Now, the company has more than 18 manufacturing sites and 7 development and application centers.

Objectives

Bosch believes in constant innovation and growth and wants to dedicate time and funds to work for society through its CSR or Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

Bosch worked with Hands-On CSR to fulfill its objective of corporate social responsibility. They worked as per their objective of:


  • Upscaling the level of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
  • To elevate kitchen maintenance and ensure food standards by auditing the kitchen.
  • To serve healthy and clean mid-day meals to the children.
  • To teach cleanliness and hygiene practices to the kitchen workers at government schools.

Hands On CSR’s solutions

Hands On CSR supported the CSR goals of the company. They helped the company fulfill its objectives by helping with the best solutions. The details of the project are mentioned here:

1. Through Akshaya Patra – A food poisoning mock drill by Bosch India was done in February and March of 2020 at Akshaya Patra kitchen, Gigani Industrial area, Bengaluru.

Here are the details of the project:

  • Bosch Limited sponsored the audit with the intention to serve only clean and hygienic mid-day meals to Akshaya Patra.
  • Though Akshayapatra acclaimed that it has the best cleanliness and top hygiene practices, the Bosch board wanted to ensure that.
  • The main funder for the kitchen’s infrastructure, Akshaya Patra underwent third-party cleanliness and hygiene audit.
  • The facility was operational for three years, but Bosch Limited felt it was essential to audit the kitchen audit for the best health of the school children.
2. Akshaya Patra – Cleanliness and hygiene audit by Bosch India was done in February and March of 2020 at Akshaya Patra kitchen, Gijani Industrial area, Bengaluru.

Here are the details of the project:

  • Bosch Limited sponsored the kitchen to serve clean and hygienic mid-day meals to government schools.
  • Though Akshayapatra, the main funder of the kitchen’s infrastructure, is known to be a follower of good and clean practices.
  • The facility was operational for three years, but such a drill never happened. Bosch Limited felt that it was the right time to conduct the drill to ensure the safety of children.
  • The foundation carried out the mock drill as a surprise activity to observe and document the action taken against food poisoning in children.
  • It was inferred that the SOP was maintained and followed.
  • The entire process took 45 minutes for the team.
  • The team responded with swift action. The team’s efforts were appreciated, and thanks were extended to all the members.

Results Achieved

The project aimed to boost food safety through the best cleanliness and hygiene practices. The results achieved were great. Here are the details of the accomplishments.

  • It was ensured that the children received only clean and hygienic mid-day meals in the government schools.
  • Akshaya Patra followed good practices.
  • The third-party food poisoning mock drill was a good practice that indicated that the food standards were maintained.
  • The team knew how to take corrective and swift actions.
  • The surprise mock drill observed that the SOP was maintained.
  • The audit helped the food providers elevate the level of food safety standards.
