About Hands On CSR

Hands On CSR joins hands with various leading corporations including giant IT firms to fulfill their corporate social responsibility goals. The communities that are falling behind in the overall development, Hand on CSR work with big companies to make a difference in their lives. For example, working for the best interest of farmers and introducing them to the best agricultural practices not only becomes lucrative for them but also to the people of the planet..

With a growing number of Corporates participating in these social activities, it has become easier for CSR to work for these communities. Hands On CSR believes that the development must be increasing day-by-day and more professional organizations should take out time for participating in social projects.

Hands On CSR has been working for several years to ensure reasonable time, efforts, and funds from the donors of the world to invest in a societal interventional project. The outcomes of the projects such as 4000 hours of volunteering events for Intel corporation, etc. are quite substantial to create a positive impact on the community.

Objectives

• To work with various companies on projects like sustainable agriculture, organic farming, natural farming, etc.
• Involving the company volunteers in knowing the details of the agriculture and farming.
• The intention is to create a meaningful and impactful positive difference in the community we are a part of.
• Help farmers with best agricultural practices.
• To make the company volunteers and farmers know about the importance of organic farming.
• To make the volunteers learn about a different culture.
• Engaging the volunteers in socially responsible activities.
• Building teamwork skills in the volunteers.
• Aiming to create a significant outcome for all the stakeholders.

Hands On CSR’s solutions

Hands-On CSR worked with associates from various companies to perform different activities. These activities included the following:

1. On 16th May 2019, an environmentally friendly and crucial project was executed. Goodera associates volunteered along with the partnership of BBMP and participated in a massive drive at Mallasandra, Bengaluru. The activities that were done were:

• Around 15 Phillips volunteers planted saplings.
• The intention was to plant as many saplings as they could on the project site.
• 25 Saplings were planted in partnership with BBMP.
• The plans were indigenous.

2. On December 19th, 2019, a volunteering activity was done by Lenevo at Mallasandra Gudde, Bengaluru. The objective was to plant more trees in Bengaluru. Various volunteering activities are detailed below:

• The plantation program was done at Mallasandra hill, Bangalore.
• It was jointly done by BBMP and Lenovo.
• More than 46 employees participated in the planting of 3 to 4 years of heightened seedlings.
• The planting was done in the open area of Hillock.

3. On August 30th, 2019, a team of volunteers from Intel, as a part of the organic farming initiative, worked with marginal farmers in Mayasandra, Anekal. The following activities were performed with absolute diligence.

• Paathi ring making for a sapota plantation and spreading organic manure – 50 Volunteers.
• Planting rare and minor fruit trees like red Seethephal, Indian cherry, Masala lime, and Masala guava to promote mixed agriculture– 25 Volunteers.
• Preparation of organic pesticide (Guided by Poochimaran, national award winner for biopesticide) and further distribution of it to the farmers to induce best practices of organic farming – 25 Volunteers.
• Promoting local art and value addition. Learning and performing gourd art (Krishikala) – 25 Volunteers.

Results Achieved

The efforts of volunteers from different companies like Goodera, Dell, and more worked brilliantly looking at the kind of results that were recorded. The volunteers’ efforts were much valued and they went home with a cherishing memory.

• The volunteers experienced a different culture.
• They learned the challenges of agriculture and farming.
• The program helped the farmers in increasing their income and making them aware of the new and improved agricultural techniques.
• The company employees learned how to work in a team.
• Due to working together for a common goal, the company employees learned better interactive and socializing skills.
• The program between the Hands On Csr and business companies created a strong bond between the two.
• The results, which are often measurable, motivate the enterprises to contribute even more in a great number to a series of different projects.
