Objectives

Intel joined hands with Hands On CSR with their three main objectives of corporate social responsibility that they hoped to achieve.

  • Primarily, Intel as a part of their social responsibility intended to assist farmers with various organic farming steps and techniques. The reason behind this was to share the workload, reduce labour charges, and save time for the farmers of India.
  • Enabling social volunteering for their employees and engaging them in a meaningful social activity.
  • The second is, bridging the gaps between the corporate sector and the pivotal farming community of India; to establish a deeper interaction amongst the Intel associates themselves and the farmers through farming as a social activity.

Hands On CSR’s Solutions

Hands On CSR, thereafter analyzing the CSR aims and objectives of Intel formulated a set of efficient solutions to engage the stakeholders in worthwhile social activities.

  • A one-day social engagement project was designed and executed on 18th June 2018. 200 Intel volunteers were taken to the NGO Sahaja Samrudha, an organization formed by the culmination of spirited marginal farmers to make sustainable agriculture a way of life for the farming community. Hands On CSR led 200 Intel associates to join the cause, assist farmers with organic farming activities such as land preparation, drip irrigation, and seed dropping.
  • Another initiative, as a one-day social volunteering program was held for Intel associates at Chiguru Ecospace on 20th Sep 2018. The volunteers from Intel had visited Chiguru Ecospace mainly to learn more about organic farming, involve in important discussions, be a part of the organic farmers cooperative, and participate in various organic farming activities.
  • Strategies were developed to reduce the gaps amongst the volunteers on-field and impel them to work closely for maximum interaction.

Results Achieved

The results that were achieved as the product of our strategizing and Intel volunteers’ efforts were heartwarming and remunerative for all the stakeholders.

  • The programs performed closely with the farmers’ cooperative brought awareness amongst Intel volunteers about farmers’ methods of functioning and got them hands-on experience of various organic farming techniques.
  • We effectively managed to reduce farmers’ workload, labour charges, and time consumption by three times.
  • Improved interactivity amongst the volunteers was notable. The interaction that happened helped hone the coworking spirit and the leadership skills of the volunteers. It brought them close and impelled them to dependently work as a team of high value.
